Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Lightbox?

Like your 'favourites' or wish list, your Lightbox is designed to store and manage images and artworks of interest to you. As you are browsing our collections, you can add products to your Lightbox and review them as a group.

This is especially useful if you need several images for a specific project. When you make an enquiry about your selections and describe your project to us, we will be able to view the images you have saved in your Lightbox and can respond to your enquiry quickly.

Selections are stored in your lightbox for 12 months, after which they will be cleared.

So that we can support your project via the Lightbox function, you will need to register as a member of the ANIMA website.

How can I used the digital images?

We only sell 'rights managed' (RM) licences to our illustrations.

When purchasing an image with a RM licence, we will mutually agree on how, where, when and for how long you will use the image(s). Based on this, ANIMA will determine a price - you will only need to pay for your intended use of the image.

The contract process we use is very simple and easy to follow.

What is an archival print?

A high quality reproduction of an original artwork which has first been scanned, then printed.

A print is considered ‘archival’ when the paper used is of museum quality and will not degrade or discolour over time. The exception to this is if the print is exposed to direct sunlight, which will cause the ink to fade and the paper to become yellow beyond repair. This will happen to any artwork exposed to direct sunlight, so we encourage you to think carefully about where you hand the artwork.

ANIMA prints onto the same paper that is used for original artworks, to respect the artist’s style. Archival prints are created using the very finest inks and pigments.

How will my artwork be shipped?

Unframed Prints and Originals

The artwork will be rolled in a dent-resistant tube. This method is very safe and allows for lower shipping costs. Works can be easily unrolled and framed by a local framer upon arrival. The sooner you can unroll the paper, the easier it will be to flatten it. Please unroll the artwork carefully to avoid creases.

Tubes are shipped by Australia Post for Australian and International destinations.

A tracking number can be provided on demand.

Framed Prints and Originals

Framed original paintings and prints will be sent flat, in a sturdy, well-protected cardboard box. We work with a specialist courier every step of the way to ensure artworks are shipped according to our high standards. Once you have submitted and paid for your order online, we will contact you with a quote for shipping costs - if you've like to find out shipping costs ahead of purchase, send us an equiry. The framed work cannot be sent until we have received payment of this shipping cost.

Common reasons for delivery delays

If you live in an area experiencing severe weather, natural disasters, or any other unforeseen major events, your package may be delayed.

In some countries, the customs clearance may be a lengthy process and can take several weeks.

We will always work with you to ensure you are kept up to date and receive your artwork as soon as possible.

Can I pick up my artwork instead of shipping it?

Yes - artwork can often be picked up from the ANIMA Studio in South Fremantle, Western Australia. Please note that this will be subject to our availability - reach out to us to discuss local pick up dates and times.

If you have arranged to pick up the artwork from the studio, we will send you an email when the package is ready and waiting - we'll then provide you with the pick up address.

If you have any further questions about pick up, please contact Catherine Julien-Swainston (08) 6249 3606.
